Tai Chi

Tai chi is an ancient form of slow, graceful and rhythmic exercise which originated in China.  The movements of the tai chi form can gently tone and strengthen the organs and muscles, improve circulation, posture and balance and relax the body and mind.  People of all ages can benefit from tai chi. No special equipment or clothing is needed and, once it is learned, it is with you for the rest of your life - just a little regular practice is all that is needed.

The Yang Style Form consists of three sections of over 100 postures and the current group of members have made great progress in learning the form in the course of over 60 sessions. New members will be welcome but will need to ‘pick up’ the moves as they go along so some experience of the Yang Style is advised.

Our Tai Chi sessions operate weekly at the Woodborough Institute, on Friday afternoons at 1.45pm. The session will usually consist of a warm-up, some Tai Chi walking and practising the Yang Style Tai Chi form.
